Banarasi Silk Sarees are a treat for the eyes with their vibrant colours and beautiful patterns. It represents our rich culture and heritage.
People treat it as a valuable possession and is passed on to the next generation with great pride. Or when they are trousseau shopping, they at least buy one Banarasi Sari, to add on to the collection.
But at the same time, there is a certain dilemma attached to it as well. I feel people take Banarasi Sari too seriously and because of that youth does not relate to it as much as it deserves. Resulting in the slowdown of the cottage industry and that is one of key reasons why the weavers are finding it difficult to make ends meet.
So today, we raise a question…Why So Serious? We need to be more playful with Banarasi Sarees. It can be much more than just a heritage possession. So, we are trying to make it more relevant to the youth with this collection.
